During the California Gold Rush, miners built shelters with whatever materials were close at hand. Living conditions were very primitive. A variety of structures were built to protect the miners from the elements, including caves, canvas tents, dugouts, log cabins, and simple clapboard structures. Our miner’s cabin is built with logs using the traditional notched ends method to provide stability and insulation for the long winter months.
The miner’s cabin is furnished much like a typical miner’s cabin would have been during the California Gold Rush.
